Informal letter writing tips

As a personal or private letter; though informal letter does not necessitate conforming strict rules like a formal letter, this form of letter also follows some particular rules which are recognized everywhere. They are as follows:
1. The style of this kind of letter is simple and natural with an informal tone.
2. The tone is conversational in form with spontaneity.
3. Contracted form of words (I’m, he’d, they’ll and so on) is applicable.
4. Colloquialism and idiomatic words, phrases and expressions (that are mainly used in conversation and can enrich the language) are applicable.
5. Starting should be with an appropriate greeting.
6. The ‘Body’ part should have an introductory sentence stating the reason of writing.
7. The Body should end up with one or two concluding sentences that sum up the letter.
8. Slang words and abbreviations can be used.
9. Imperative voice can be used.
10. Simple and short sentences can be and should be used to make the letter more meaningful and intimate to the reader.
